The parts and pieces that define michael rosenthal 4/5/2013

Running a gallery in San Francisco for 5 years lent me to think that there has to be a better way. Something more natural and related to being part of the artmaking. Happily I give up selling art for a position in working with art.The new program will provide opportunities and services for artists. In the beginning (now) the program is a hybridization of lots of projects run by artists. The hope is that the program will evolve by creating its own projects and opportunities through the cross pollination of people and ideas.
It is easier to give examples that define in the abstract. Currently this is what is happening: Ajit Chauhan has been introduced to Becky Saunders ( program director at Palo Alto Public Access TV) and and is on a path to producing and directing a program for public access tv. Jennifer Muskopf has started a project that involves 400 artists in the creation of 400 paintings of wolves.
Megan Whitmarsh is planning a book printed on fabric using silkscreen as the process.
Justin Amrhein has produced a boxed edition of his " Weapons of Mass Destruction " diagrams .
Jane Hambleton is putting together a print project that only she understands.
Yan Yan Mao, a new resident is setting up to do her work in the studio this summer.
And so on.......
Hopefully you will get involved through our workshops, using the facilities ( for a fee) or utilize the artists services we provide in our digital print studio.
